Gently Exfoliate Your Skin

Remove the dry, dull debris and reveal the softer, smoother skin underneath

Microdermabrasion and Dermaplane

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand (exfoliate) your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outermost layer.

This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks. Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that is abundant when you're a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.

What is a Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a method of using a surgical blade to gently scrape (exfoliate) off the top layer of dull, dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Dermaplaning also removes the fuzzy vellus hair on the face creating an even smoother surface. Dermaplaning, along with microdermabrasion, are both forms of physical exfoliation; however, dermaplaning can be used on most any skin type and condition, unlike the microdermabrasion.

Procedure Details for Microdermabrasion

Any procedure or facial product (Retin A, Renova, Tretinoin, etc) that may increase your sensitivity should be avoided before a microdermabrasion. The treatment takes approximately 30-45 mins and can cause mild to moderate discomfort. Tolerance varies from patient to patient. Treatments can be done every 3-4 weeks and multiple treatments may be necessary depending on the skin condition being treated.

Procedure Details for Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is most often only done on the face while avoiding the neck and nose. It is not used to shape the eyebrows, as the hair is much thicker than the fine vellus hair on your face. Dermaplaning may be performed every 3-4 weeks with no downtime. This procedure will remove 2-3 weeks of dead skin cells from the facial area. Multiple treatments may be necessary depending on the skin condition being treated.
